I started looking in to the design for Bio-Shock Infinite so I would now where to look for inspiration when it came to editing. The head designer explains how he wanted many of the levels within the game to sound lonely and abandoned, which I feel like I will need to try convey when I do my editing, as I will still approaching this as a sequel and not from a new point of view. I need to try develop my soundscape so it explains to the player where a bouts they are within the structure and environment of the game.
For inspiration:
I watched films such as:
- City of Lost Children
- Wild Wild West
- True Git
From the films I gained inspiration for how I wanted Songbird to sound; the mechanical spider in Wild Wild West. Metal stomps as it walks, gasps of steam with it’s movement so it sounds almost clumsy in its movements.
